Description

Lidbil Lastvagnar on Björkhagsgatan in Lidköping is an authorised dealer and workshop for Volvo Trucks. The truck side was split out of the old Lidbil business as far back as 1981 and moved to its own premises; in January 2024 the passenger car operation was sold to the Brandt group, leaving the company focused solely on heavy vehicles. It now has around thirty staff across the Lidköping and Vara sites. The workshop is accredited by Swedac to clear roadworthiness test failures and to carry out the two-year tachograph inspection, and it fits and calibrates Dräger and V3 alcolocks. At Vara the accreditation covers tachograph checks and work on speed limiters. The workshop runs an evening shift with its own evening workshop manager — a practical advantage for hauliers whose vehicles are working during the day. Alongside service and repairs it sells Volvo's truck accessory range.
