Information we process

Depending on how you use Garfind, we may process request and device information needed to deliver the website, a coarse country code supplied with the request, your manually selected country, consent choices, map interactions, review submissions, and information you send by email. We minimise collection and do not ask for sensitive personal data.

Approximate location

When available, a coarse country code supplied with the web request helps Garfind suggest a relevant country and map area. Garfind does not store the full IP address for this country suggestion or use the result to build an advertising location profile.

Precise location

The map requests browser geolocation only after you select the location control. The browser supplies coordinates to position the map; the Garfind application does not save those coordinates in its database. You can refuse or revoke browser permission at any time.

Contact forms and messages

Current contact and workshop-submission actions open your email application. If you email [email protected], the message, sender address and any details you include are processed to answer the request. Do not include unnecessary sensitive information.

Workshop information

Garfind publishes business information such as workshop names, addresses, contact details, opening information and services. This information may come from workshops, users, public business sources or other lawfully accessible sources. Business contact details can still be personal data where they identify an individual.

Analytics

Google Analytics is loaded only after Analytics permission. It helps us understand aggregate use and improve Garfind. The integration is configured with IP anonymisation and no Garfind user ID is sent. You can withdraw permission through Cookie Settings; known Google Analytics cookies are then removed.

Legal bases

We rely on consent for optional analytics and marketing storage. We rely on legitimate interests where necessary to operate, secure and improve a useful workshop directory, prevent abuse, answer enquiries and maintain accurate public business information, after considering the rights of affected people. We process data needed to respond to a request or take requested pre-contractual steps where applicable, and comply with legal obligations when required.

Data retention

Consent and country preferences remain for the periods shown in the Cookie Policy or until cleared. Review security identifiers may remain for up to 180 days.
