Eklunds Bildelslager at Våmb outside Skövde is one of Sweden's larger vehicle dismantlers, with 38 employees and a turnover of just over a hundred million kronor. The business has more than seventy-five years in the trade and strips thousands of vehicles a year. The stock runs to around a hundred thousand used parts covering most makes and models on the Swedish market, searchable on the Bildelsbasen platform. Every used part is run, tested and quality graded against the classification list of SBR, the Swedish vehicle recyclers' federation, and the company is an SBR member certified to the federation's environmental and quality system. Used parts typically cost around half what new original parts do. Orders are usually dispatched the same day, larger goods within three to four working days. Anyone bringing a vehicle in for dismantling receives the scrapping premium. The site also has its own tyre workshop offering wheel changes, balancing, fitting and sales of new and used summer and winter tyres and wheels; the tyre hotel next door includes cleaning of tyres and wheels in the storage price.
