Kristianstads Motorslip on Karlsgatan was founded in 1969 and is one of Sweden's leading engine reconditioning firms. It works on petrol, diesel and gas engines, taking both full and partial rebuilds, with the weight on heavy applications: trucks, buses, construction plant, industrial and marine. The machine shop can grind engine blocks, cylinder heads and crankshafts, and carries out skimming, line boring, balancing and thermal spraying of worn components. The company also makes its own tools and special parts — oversize liners for the Volvo D8, and its own fix for water leakage between the head faces on Scania blocks, that is, remedies not available to buy ready-made. Exchange engines, heads and turbos are held in stock, along with parts for Volvo, Scania, MAN, Deutz, DAF, Caterpillar and Cummins, and Volvo Penta marine components. The workshop belongs to MORE, the Swedish engine reconditioners' trade body, and is a MORE-Center service point. This is not a workshop for someone needing a car serviced — it is the specialist other workshops send engines to.
